A Tale of Two Tees.

We did a funny little test on fairness.

Nobody paid much attention to evil smilies until we put up a silly Obama tee shirt. We went to Cafe Press and did a search and noticed that there were nearly 300 tee shirt designs and thousands of products with President Bush pictured as a Monkey, Chimp, Ape, Curious George or worse. Some of the shirts simply said "Bush is a Monkey". So we decided to try a little experiment.

We submitted a design identical to a Bush design, and it was immediatly banned. That's right. It was okay to make a shirt about President Bush that was calling him a monkey, but the same shirt with Obama's picture was clearly out of bounds.

You need not bother clicking on the one for Obama, as it has been removed. The Bush image reamains online and is not considered inappropriate at all.

We did not really want to jump into the political fray with tee shirts, but when we were producing our smiley shirts, we simply could not help noticing that all of the Bush shirts were nasty, and all of the Obama shirts were obsequious. What is good for the goose, should be good for the gander.

We think that if it was okay to call President Bush a monkey for 8 years, it should be okay to call all Democratic candidates the same thing. That's all. Hillary is a monkey too, but she's losing, so is less interesting.

We think that if it is improper to create craven images of Dear Leader Messiah Obama, that it should at least not be allowed for President Bush's image.
